Mr. Javed Yousuf Edhi

Chief Executive Officer, National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) Member, Digital Assurance and Accounting Board (DAAB), ICAP (2026–2028)

Javed Yousuf Edhi is a seasoned banking and technology executive with more than three decades of leadership experience in digital financial services, payment systems, cybersecurity, technology risk management, and enterprise transformation. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT), Pakistan’s designated national payment system operator for cheque clearing and digital payment infrastructure.

Throughout his career, Mr. Javed Edhi has held senior leadership positions with leading national and international financial institutions, where he has successfully led strategic initiatives in digital banking, payment systems, information security, enterprise technology, governance, and operational resilience. Under his leadership, NIFT has significantly strengthened its technology and cybersecurity posture while driving innovation in Pakistan’s financial market infrastructure.

Mr. Javed Edhi is an advocate of responsible adoption of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, digital trust, and cyber resilience, with a strong focus on governance, assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He actively contributes to industry forums on digital transformation, technology governance, and financial sector modernization.

Mr. Edhi is a recognized thought leader in digital trust, cybersecurity governance, AI governance, and financial technology. He served as Chairman of the Cyber Security & Information Security Governance Council at the National Incubation Center (NIC) Karachi for 2025–2026 and currently serves as a Member of the Council for 2026–2028, where he contributes to strengthening cybersecurity governance, mentoring technology startups, and promoting secure digital innovation.

He holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology and a Master’s degree in Computer Science with Cyber Security from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified Director from the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG), and has completed executive and professional programs in digital financial services and emerging technologies.

As a Member of ICAP’s Digital Assurance and Accounting Board, Mr. Edhi contributes his expertise towards advancing digital assurance practices, technology governance, AI governance, cybersecurity, and innovation within the accounting and assurance profession.
